About this Calculator:
This Resistor Color Code Calculator helps you decode resistor values from color bands or vice versa. By selecting the color bands or entering the resistance value, you can determine the resistance value, tolerance, and temperature coefficient. This tool is essential for electronics enthusiasts and professionals.
How to Use:
Select the number of bands (4-band, 5-band, or 6-band) and choose the corresponding colors for each band. Click "Calculate" to see the resistance value, tolerance, and temperature coefficient. Use the "Reset" button to clear the inputs and start over.
Equation Used:
The resistance value is calculated based on the color bands selected. The first two or three bands represent significant digits, the multiplier band represents the power of ten, and the tolerance band represents the tolerance percentage. For 6-band resistors, the temperature coefficient is also included.
